A bit about me…

Hello! I’m Carol-Anne and I’m a qualified Independent Celebrant. I offer my clients an extensive range of skills, experience and knowledge, acquired from living a full and diverse life. I’m a very positive, compassionate and empathetic person. I’ve always worked and found time to volunteer for organisations that enable me to help and support others. 

I’m a mother of two amazing children. I love them both dearly and they never cease to inspire and surprise me. My grandchildren are just the best - I’m so lucky that they think of me as a cool grandma! I am a wife to a wonderful man who loves and supports me in all that I do. Life isn’t always easy but together we have raised a great family, which is without a doubt my greatest achievement to date. Followed closely by becoming a celebrant! 

I especially feel lucky to be surrounded by the love, warmth and the support of my family and friends…who are all so central to my life. We are lucky to live in a world where families come in all shapes and sizes and family values are extremely important to me.

I strongly believe that every life experience is as unique as the individual who has lived it. Life should be about following your passions, living life to the full and being adventurous. I feel privileged to feel alive every single day. 

I try to find inspiration and beauty in everything. I believe in creating, capturing and treasuring moments spent with family and friends…not just collecting objects or material things. Although these too can have great significance for some…moments can never be replaced. They will ultimately become priceless memories…memories that preserve life stories to be treasured by generations to come long after you are gone. 

Each ceremony I craft is never repeated…it is as unique and special as the individual(s) that it is created for. Each ceremony is crafted with care, individuality and respect. Each ceremony, whether telling a love story, a life story or celebrating a birth; is exquisitely made. Just like the individuals at the heart of each and every one.

My Experience

Following a career as a Mental Health Nurse, managing ski resorts and a customer facing role in retail, I become a civil funeral celebrant. My own experiences with loss and bereavement were not necessarily positive…so I wanted to try and change the whole funeral experience for others. 

I have enjoyed my work immensely and I’ve received such wonderful and encouraging feedback. So much so, that I have expanded my repertoire to include Wedding Celebration, Commitment, Civil Partnership, Renewal of Vows, Naming, Welcoming, Funeral and Celebration of Life Ceremonies. I now hold the following qualifications: - 

NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (the only national qualification in this field approved by Ofqual)

NOCN Level 4 in Creating and Conducting Child and Baby Funeral.

NOCN Level 4 in Creating and Delivering Funeral Tributes (Advanced Practice)

NOCN Level 3 Couples and Naming Ceremonies.

I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants; www.independentcelebrants.com AOIC membership includes Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Being a creative story teller is what I do, it is what excites me and what makes me smile…everyone has a story that deserves to be told. I really enjoy getting to know my clients and their families. Hearing their stories and helping them to share their stories; in an inspirational, captivating and heartfelt way. 

I afford my clients the luxury of being able to relax and enjoy their ceremony. That in turn affords their guests not only to feel relaxed but also to feel included in the proceedings…exquisite moments in time that unfold…right before their eyes.

Nothing fazes me - I am calm, collected and can take the stress out of not only creating a ceremony but delivering it on the day too. I truly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to create an amazing day, an amazing moment, an amazing memory.

It is always a privilege and an honour to create ceremony’s with sensitivity, compassion and love. Ceremony’s that are fitting, beautiful and sincere in every way.
